The APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2024/2025 has set the standard consultation fee for a psychologist at $315 for a 50-minute session. The work of psychologists on your behalf exceeds 50 minutes due to preparation and the formulation of a Treatment Plan. This practice has the additional considerations of the Herd and the environment. In addition, Jayne will provide "homework" for you, and is willing to check in with you outside of face-to-face sessions, by negotiation. That being said, our fees remain lower than the recommended fee, and may be further reduced under the "Better Access initiative" if you are eligible for Medicare rebates. Also, check with your Private Health Fund provider for their possible contributions for psychological services.
Individual Therapy: With your GP's support; a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) - Medicare currently subsidise 50 minutes of "focused psychological strategies" with a contribution of $96.65 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Our fee is $250 per session. Your "gap" payment will be $153.35.
Group Therapy: With your GP's support; a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) - Medicare extend subsidies for psychological intervention by a further 10 sessions per calendar year, if the client is willing and may benefit from group sessions (4-10 participants). If you are coming to the end of your 10 subsidised sessions per calendar year, please speak with Jayne and your GP about this opportunity. The current Medicare rebate for an hour shared is $24.65, or $33.60 for 90 minutes shared.
Telehealth: On those occasions where you may not be able to visit Korribinjal, the Herd, Gal and Jayne in person, you may like to see and consult with them via video. Twenty minutes via "Telehealth" currently attracts a Medicare rebate of $68.50 with an approved MHCP. Fifty minutes online with an approved MHCP remains the same subsidy as in-person; $96.65. Telehealth is far less taxing for the animals/environment, so our session fee is reduced to $200 for a Telehealth consultation. See our webpage "Our Practice" for more information about Telehealth.
Concessions: Speak with Jayne if you have difficulties accessing affordable mental health care. We are unable to "bulk bill" as we have a number of pre-existing clients who pay a lower fee to ensure that they can continue to have access to mental health care.
Please note: Your card details will be saved in a secure database (Halaxy), and payment will automatically be processed on the day of your session. If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate mentioned above, this may be processed on your behalf. If you have any problems with Medicare sending you the rebate, you will have to follow up with Services Australia yourself due to confidentiality limitations.
Fees are subject to change and are reviewed each January and July.
Please note that our software program charges a small card fee for all transactions. You can make a bank transfer, as detailed on our Consent Document (available on this site).
You will be required to pay up front and organise a reimbursement from your funding body after the session.
We do not bill third parties directly for your consultation.
