A natural teacher and counsellor, Jayne has been working with people, horses and dogs in rural settings worldwide for much of her life. As a "Natural" Horsewoman for 2 decades, Jayne recognised the needs of people in their relationships with the animals brought to her to "fix". This inspired Jayne to return to University to develop her skills further. Jayne graduated with Honours in Psychology (ECU) after completing research into Equine Therapeutic Interventions. Jayne was then accepted into a Master's programme at Murdoch University.
Jayne has worked with adolescents and their families at risk via the CaRE School (non-government, alternative education) initiative for over 7 years. Her work in the Peel region in multidisciplinary settings, and liaising with a variety of health services, established her skills as a trauma-informed practitioner.
Jayne is experienced with a variety of presentations such as ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Behavioural issues, Depression, Grief, PTSD, Suicidal Ideation and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury.
Jayne promotes compassion, personal growth and wellbeing, and is experienced in psychological and behavioural techniques and strategies such as Attachment Theory, CBT, Crisis Intervention, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused and Psychodynamic Therapies.
